Filip Minarik en quelques mots

Né à Prague en République tchèque, Filip Minarik est le fils de Ferdinand Minarik, trois fois tête de liste en tant que jockey dans son pays avant de devenir entraîneur. Il a débute donc tout naturellement son apprentissage auprès de son père, avant de partir trois mois en 1995 à Lamorlay, chez Tony Clout. Un an après, il déménage en Allemagne pour travailler chez de petits entraîneurs avant de rejoindre Peter Schiergen en 2000, où il devient rapidement deuxième jockey de l’écurie. En 2005 et en 2011, il remporte la Cravache d’Or allemande. En 2013, alors qu’il met fin à quatorze ans de collaboration avec Schiergen pour devenir free-lance, partageant ses courses entre 5 pays (Allemagne, France, Belgique, Suisse, République Tchèque), il est obligé de mettre sa carrière en pause suite à un burn-out.
