Marc Lerner en quelques mots

Marc Lerner est un jockey qui exerce son métier en famille, avec son père Carlos entraineur à Maison-Laffitte, et son frère Yann, ancien jockey devenu également entraineur. Il débute tardivement dans le milieu, courant pendant deux ans dans des courses pour gentlemen-riders. Il fait sa demande de licence en 2010, et devient apprenti. Pendant l’année d’attente de réception du diplôme, il part s’entrainer aux Etats-Unis pour découvrir d’autres méthodes et se perfectionner. Il y est accueilli entre autres par Patrick Biancone.

Revenu en France en septembre 2011, il débute la compétition en novembre. Le 18 janvier 2012 à Cagnes-sur-Mer, dans une course à réclamer, il remporte sa première victoire en selle sur Wise Boy pour Werner Baltromei. Le 28 août, c’est son premier Quinté qu’il arrache avec Carilo, un cheval de son père. Enfin le 14 mai 2013 à Chantilly, il devient professionnel grâce à sa 70ème victoire acquise avec Odyssée, une pouliche entrainée dans l’écurie familiale.
